A passionate advocate for people with disabilities, Amado has fought to promote housing autonomy, self-advocacy, high quality supports, and meaningful employment.  Her publication, Friends: Connecting People with Disabilities and Community Members, is a valuable resource for anyone working to promote natural supports and friendships for people with intellectual disabilities.
