Pete Cook: Vermont’s 2018 DSP of the Year

GMSS is very excited to have, for the second year in a row, one of our Direct Support Professionals receive the high honor of “DSP of the Year” for the State of Vermont.

Pete Cook has been a member of the GMSS team for eleven years.  He is an amazing advocate for those he supports, and consistently empowers individuals to gain the skills needed to succeed in their communities. Pete enjoys woodworking, a hobby which he shares with anyone who is interested. He happily makes time to open up his shop and share his skills, providing both an outlet for some and education for others.

Pete shares with those he supports that they can accomplish anything if they are willing to work hard, and he assures them that he will be there to help them every step of the way.  He considers himself and those that he supports to be a team.

Pete will travelled in April to New Orleans where he attended the National Direct Support Professionals’ Annual Awards Ceremony at the ANCOR conference.  At this event, Pete was recognized for all his dedication and hard work.   Join us in congratulating Pete for exemplifying what it means to be a DSP!
