"Thank You For What You Do. You Are Appreciated!"

The past October was National Disability Employment Awareness Month.  GMSS has a long and successful supported employment program where we have people employed with close to 2 dozen local businesses.  In October we wanted to publicly show our sincerest appreciation to these businesses with an Employer Appreciation Dinner.
A Delicious Spaghetti Dinner with guest speakers and speeches and our inaugural Hugh Bradshaw Award was given to Butternut Farms.  Their nomination letter stated:
For the past 17 years, this employer has gone out of their way to be sure their staff has a comfortable and safe work site. This employer has let their individual come into their own from starting to box 8 dozen per shift to 48 dozen. Butternut has also understood the importance of family and has been very accommodating when needing time off. They are sure to include their individual in all the happenings of the work site.

Hugh Bradshaw Award

Hugh Bradshaw has been an Employment Services Manager for the division of Vocational Rehabilitation for the past 12 years.

Hugh was forefront for creating and launching Creative Workforce Solutions (CWS) in 2010. Creative Workforce Solutions allows Employment Specialists to access work incentives and be able to offer progressive employment to employers. Part of CWS is the ability to utilize a business account manager to help create training for job seekers to help open doors with employers. There is a BAM in every county which is very helpful for GMSS as we are located in different counties this provides Employment specialist several BAMS. In addition, Hugh helped teach us how to use the Salesforce Data system. This is a system that gives job developers the ability to access different business and who the last Employment Specialist was to check into this business. Therefore, we are not all bombarding employers.
Hugh helped Launch and facilitate a specialized course for job developers. This is a 12-week course with a 2-week specialty class and then becoming ARCE certified in job developing.
Hugh has helped Vermont job developers giving them the tools they need to be successful.
