2018 has been a very productive year for Green Mountain Support Services. Here are just some of our highlights of 2018!

In February GMSS was honored to be a part of the Morrisville Rotary Polar Splash! 6 of us jumped in the frigid waters of Lake Elmore for charity!

For the second year in a row, we were proud to have one of our DSPs win the Vermont DSP of the year from  ANCOR . Pete Cook received his award in April in New Orleans.

Also in May we hosted our 2nd Annual Elder Americans Day at the Morrisville VFW

May 11th was a big day for us. After 20 years at our previous address, we moved to our new location at 93 James Road in Morrisville.

With our new office, we also had more meeting rooms. We named our 12 meeting rooms after leaders and advocates in the fields of disability, elder care, and brain injury.

Roy from  First Person Services  and John from  NADSP  came to our new office to facilitate a training for our All Staff meeting at the end of May.

After 20 years, Patty stepped down from being on the board in June. GMSS was very fortunate to have such a strong advocate.

In late June GMSS was proud to be a part of  LACiNg Up for Cancer  and won the ‘Most Festive’ Award!

We were sad to see our nurse, Martha Ide, leave us for the bright days of retirement in late June. She is missed, but we were grateful to have her with us for so many years.

In early August GMSS hosted a blood drive for the  American Red Cross . It was a great turn out!

Our 2nd Annual Outdoor Bazaar at the Oxbow Park in Morrisville was the biggest yet, with over 70 vendors on August 18th!

The highlight of our Open House was the ribbon cutting. Anyone associated with the agency for more than 15 years was invited to participate.

In September two of our DSPs, Liza and Lindsay attended the 2018  NADSP  conference in St. Louis, Missouri

After a year of planning, we had our very successful  3rd Annual Cerebral Palsy Conference  on October 5th at the  Stoweflake .  John Quinn  was our keynote speaker. We had over 100 in attendance.

On October 9th, a large group of GMSS folks attended the  Vermont Brain Injury Conference . GMSS was also a proud gold sponsor of the event.

At the end of October we had our Peer Support Network training. Our 2018 class consisted of 4 SLPs and 4 DSPs!
